F.A.Q.

General Information

Q: When is the con?
A:
August 23-25, 2019

Q: Why a furry convention in Spokane?
A:
Why are you asking us silly questions? The more, the merrier! We felt it was time for the Inland Northwest to have its own convention. Furvana, Anthro Northwest, Furlandia, and Vancoufur are well established already in the Pacific Northwest and are doing very well! And plus, the furry community in Spokane and the surrounding areas is rapidly growing! We have every reason to increase exposure of our creative and artistic culture in as many outlets as possible.

Q: Is this an all age inclusive convention?
A:
Like most conventions, we aim to cater to people of all ages! Families are always welcomed. However, we know that there are those who have a taste for the “Wild Side of the Fandom!” Don’t worry, we don’t plan to abolish those types of events whatsoever. However, bear (rawr) in mind that there are rules. The code of conduct must be followed; common decency dictates that you should remain considerate to others. Attending the 18+ panels? Great! Walking down the hallway in questionable attire? Please think again.

Q: Why is everything still in development?
A:
There is a lot of work and planning when building any kind of convention from the ground up. All of this effort can be quite daunting and challenging, but these are all good reasons why it is so satisfying. In order to provide you with an amazing experience, we want to make sure that we’ve covered every detail. There is no Furry Godmother to wave a wand and make it all happen; just a pen, some ideas, motivated people and time.

Q. What took you so long to get a decent website up and running?
A:
In hindsight, it would have been much better for us to get the full site prepared before we launched publicly. The original website was only supposed to be online for a short time, but lack of experienced web designers / coders drew the development of the replacement out much further than anticipated. (On that note, we're always happy to have more help–both on the website, and in every other area!)

Q: I know that marijuana is legal in Washington. Can I smoke it at SponAnthro?
A:
No. While marijuana has been legalized in Washington state, it is still against Ruby River Inn policy to smoke or vaporize it on premises (all buildings, parking areas, grassed areas, sidewalks etc.). Breaking this policy is grounds for removal from the hotel, which includes an automatic forfeiture of your convention membership.

Q: Can I have alcoholic beverages in convention space?
A:
The Ruby River Inn's liquor license only covers alcohol purchased from their bars, so the only alcohol that is legally allowed around the convention center and hotel, outside of your own private room, is alcohol purchased from the hotel restaurant and bar.

Q: How do I volunteer?
A:
Visit our volunteers page.

Q: I've pre-registered and cannot attend, can I get a refund?
